COVID-19 Appt Protocol
We have been working hard to ensure a safe environment for our patients and staff. Bassett Creek Dental will be resuming patient care on May 11th. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect both our patients and staff. For example:
If you are a new patient, please print and fill out paperwork at home prior to coming to the office and, if possible, returning scanned copies of forms by e-mail. Patient Registration Form and Medical History Form.
If you are an existing patient, please print and sign our Acknowledgement of Risk Form and email or fax to our office, or bring to your appointment.
You will be asked screening questions before your appointment:
- Have you felt feverish in the past 14 days?
- Do you have any of the following symptoms: Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, cough, flu-like symptoms such as GI upset, headache or fatigue, loss of taste or smell?
- Are you in contact with any COVID-19 positive patients?
- Have you traveled to any regions affected by COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
We will have you wait in your car for your appointment, with a call to your cell when we are ready.
We request that if you are over 18, and do not require assistance, that you refrain from bringing a companion with you to your appointment.
We will ask you to wear a mask while in our office, and will have some available for you if needed.
We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in other places in the office for you to use as needed.
We may take your temperature upon check in.
Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
We have installed an air filtration unit with HEPA filters, ultraviolet light, and ion particle filters.
Reach out to us with any questions. We look forward to seeing you!
