Dental Checkups Tailored to Your Needs

Dental checkups are an important part of your routine healthcare. But how often should you see your dentist? Should some people see their dentist more frequently than others?

While we recommend dental checkups every six months, some people may need to see their dentist more frequently. The American Dental Association provides the following recommendations for dental checkups:

Individual risk factors should affect the frequency of your dental checkups. Diabetes, smoking, and other risk factors should be taken into consideration by your dentist. Some patients may need a dental checkup more frequently than the typical six months checkup.

Work closely with your dentist at Bassett Creek Dental to develop a schedule that suits your health needs.

In between checkups, it’s critical that patients take good care of their teeth and gums at home. This means brushing with fluoride toothpaste twice a day or after every meal, flossing daily, and following any other recommendations made by your dentist.

In addition to seeing your dentist for regular checkups, you should always make an appointment with Bassett Creek Dental if you experience any discomfort or other changes. A missing filling, a change in sensation in your teeth, a strange taste in your mouth, or pain when you bite down are all signs that something may be wrong. Please make an appointment to see one of our dentists for an examination and evaluation of the problem.

Bassett Creek Dental gives you more reasons to smile. We have several fine dentists on staff, and offer a full range of family and cosmetic dental services in our comfortable Golden Valley office. Please call our office today for an appointment. 763-546- 1301.
