Oral Surgery

Oral Surgery What to Expect

Oral surgery can leave patients feeling a bit timid. However, you can feel rest assured that you are in trusted hands. Our skilled professionals put their patients and their comfort first. We will walk you through what to expect in detail from the procedure itself to aftercare.

Every patient is unique, therefore, every procedure is unique. There is no one size fits all approach and you can expect to be treated with compassion and understanding.

When Oral Surgery is Necessary

Oral surgery is necessary for a variety of reasons which include:

  • Tooth extraction
  • Biopsies
  • Dental implants
  • Bone grafting
  • Periodontal surgery

What to Expect

Before the Procedure

Before undergoing oral surgery you will have a visit. During this visit, the recommendation will be made on what needs to be done and why this is being recommended. You will also have one-on-one time with your oral surgeon to discuss any questions you may have regarding the procedure and after-care.

Day of the Procedure

You will need a driver the day of the surgery and ideally someone to care for you after the procedure. Every patient is unique, so everyone’s experience will be a bit different. Your surgeon will answer any questions or concerns you may have before the procedure.

After the Surgery

You will be given detailed instructions on aftercare. These instructions will vary depending on the type of surgery you have done. A follow up visit may also be necessary

“From the hygienist up, the staff at Bassett Creek Dental is a joy. Very personable and you don’t feel like a “number”. Offering a full line of services they also offer appointments really early in the morning and mid evening hours.”
